Luke knows both sides of an AI-native brokerage from the inside. He studied Computer Science and Physics at university and interned at a Web3 start-up in San Francisco before moving into brokering, where he worked his way up to lead the commercial finance desk at Vault Commercial Finance for two and a half years and arranged around £32m of facilities, from small property deals to multi-million-pound lines for national brands.

How quick is quick?

Laurie gives you a rough guide to what you could borrow in a few minutes, from a handful of questions. Getting to a formal offer and completion still depends on the lender, the valuation and the legal work.

Is the rough guide an offer?

No. It's our own estimate from limited information, not an offer or advice. Final terms depend on your full details, how you'll repay the loan and the lender's own checks, and only a lender's formal offer is binding.

Is Laurie a real person?

No, Laurie is our AI assistant. It asks the questions and works out your rough guide. Your broker, Luke, is very much a real person, and he picks up every case personally.

Can I borrow against a home I live in?

Loans secured on a home you or your family live in are regulated, and we're not set up to arrange them yet. With your permission, we'll introduce you to an FCA-authorised partner who can help.

What does it cost?

Laurie Finance doesn't charge a broker fee for using our services. We're paid a commission by the lender when your loan completes, and lender choice is never based on what a lender pays us. Lender fees, valuation and legal costs still apply, and we'll show you the total cost of each option before you choose.

Will getting a rough guide affect my credit score?

No. Getting a rough guide from Laurie doesn't involve a credit search at all. Later on, with your consent, we run a soft credit search, not a hard one, so that won't affect your credit score either.
